53rd Paris Air Show- Le Bourget 2019, and The Electric Alice
Paris Air Show 2019 and the Real Reason I Attended This Year: Eviation Aircraft Ltd. and their all-electric Alice.
The Paris Air Show is, without a doubt the most important aviation exhibition.
I was thrilled to visit the show back in 2017 but it was nothing like the excitement that captivates me this year.
The opportunity that I've been given, to catch the remarkable moments that emphasized what a great impact can a relatively small company (if you compare it to the worlds' giants companies such as Airbus and Boeing) have in the advanced world that we live in today.
Eviation was the real jewel of Paris Air Show 2019. It may sound strange to acknowledge that a $4 million all-electric plane was the highlight of the show when the Paris Air Show sold $15 billion in planes. But it is the naked truth!
Eviation has unveiled 'Alice' the first all-electric, 9 passenger airplane, and an announcement about the first buyer: U.S. regional airline Cape Air that has agreed to buy a “double-digit” number of planes.
About Eviation Aircraft Ltd.
Eviation founded by Omer Bar-Yohay in 2015. The company has roughly 35-40 employees nowadays. The company is working with a world-class group of suppliers that include Honeywell (flight-by-wire systems), magniX (EPUs), Siemens (EPUs), Magnaghi Aeronautica (LG), Hartzell (propellers), and Multiplast Groupe Carboman.
Next Major Steps
Eviation will collaborate with AeroTEC, which will lead Alice's flight tests and first flight in Moses Lake, Washington for certification.
For your convenience, and for a deeper understanding of the grand change of regional aviation, I picked my favorite media covers from the Paris Air Show about Eviation.
