Top 10 Dream Travel Destinations Challenge, divided by categories

I came across an interesting challenge in a traveling blog and decided to take the challenge myself.

About the Challenge:

As it says in the header of the post, it is a “top 10 dream travel destinations challenge”. But a unique one, as you will need to categorize the Top 10 dream travel destinations by the following categories:

Destination

  • Event

  • Local destination

  • City

  • Country

  • Island

  • Extreme

  • Accommodation

  • Outdoor destination

  • Food & Drink

Destination- Iceland

Iceland is my dream destination at the moment. I want to take a tour in a volcano and get inside an ice cave, I want to dive into Pingvallavatn Lake and explore the gap between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. But most of all I want to stand on a glacier and watch a whale swimming right next to me.

Event- Le Bourget Air Show aka International Paris Air Show

Should I say another word?! All aviation freaks should attend at least once. Any airplanes lover should be in this well-known venue that takes place every second year in June. I admit, I already attend once, back in 2017.

Local Destination- Moomin world Naantali Finland

As you probably noticed by now, I cherish cold climate places. And here is another fact: when I was a child I adore the Moomin series, I think I never stopped admire this family of trolls. So what can be better for me, than be in the original country where the inspiration for these beautiful stories came from?! and boost it with a big bonus of going to the theme park in this country.

City- Singapore

It is hard to consider Singapore as a city, but it is, actually, Singapore is an island city-state. Everything is super organized and clear. The streets are clean and pleasant. There are plenty of traditional sites that go side by side with modern sites. It’s hard to be misplaced as there are signs everywhere. If you did take the wrong turn, not to worry it will only take you about 45 min of driving to circle the entire island.

Country- Japan

I think Japan has it all. Big modern cities, modern and traditional culture, excellent public transportation, a mass of green areas, hiking trails and varies climate areas.

Island- Galapagos Islands

It can be amazing to witness the mysterious wildlife in the Galapagos Islands. It will also a great opportunity for diving or just relax on the beautiful shores while eating delicious fruits. Visiting Galapagos is also giving you the chance to practice Spanish.

Extreme- Antarctica

The place that eager my curiosity the most! I still have no clue if I can try to explore this arctic as a solo traveler. I’m sure it will require mental preparation as well as getting in shape in order to accomplish my one crazy extreme dream destination. I don’t know if it will ever happen the way I imagine it but never say never.

Accommodation - A Cabin House

I should probably extend by saying an isolated cabin house. I can picture myself staying in a wooden cabin somewhere in the deep forest. The cabin should include a fireplace. I can imagine myself with my husband and daughter. We are sitting in the living room or in front of a wide window watching the raindrops, and drinking hot chocolate.

Outdoor Destination- Yosemite

Unfortunately I never been in the area. The reason for this outdoor hiking choice that I’m keen to experience is pretty silly. I’ve watched the awesome documentary film, “Free Solo” and I fell in love with the scenery of Yosemite Park. For those of you who still didn’t watch “Free Solo” documentary- do yourself a huge favor and go watch it!

Food & Drink- Thailand

It was a hard battle, between Italy and Thailand. To be honest, I had to make myself stop thinking about every other aspect rather than food & drink so I can choose. I can literally live from Papaya Som Tam for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The drink topic is a bit challenging as Italy will defeat Thailand without a shred of doubt. However, I can live with Chang beer temporarily. Until I will learn how to make my own beer and wine. I’m passionate as to producing my own alcohol, more than making my own lunch box.

This post appears to be one of many ways of getting to know me better. I actually learned a lot about myself while writing it.
